A local guide provided us with a tour around the Old Town before leaving us to wander freely and return to our guide.

Notable buildings in the Old Town:

  • Church of Our Lady of Remedy is situated on St John Mountain and can be seen from the Bay and the Old Town.
  • Cathedral of Saint Tryphon Катедрала Светог Трипуна) in Kotor, is one of the two Roman Catholic cathedrals in Montenegro. The Cathedral was consecrated in June 1966, is one of the two Roman Catholic cathedrals in Montenegro. Saint Tryphon was the patron and protector of the city.

Entrance Fee: EUR2:00 is chargeable for access to the interior of the cathedral.

  • Saint Nicholas Church (Srpska pravoslavna crkva Svetog Nikole) the most important Orthodox Church in Kotor.

Photograph permissible: Not being disrespectful but photography is permissible if you ask the right person. My suggestion: ask permission. Even as there is low light, refrain from letting your camera flash go off; Entrance charges: No entry charge.

Маркат is the definition of Farmer’s market. Located south-easterly of the Tourist Info Desk, you will find simple-looking stores laid out with vendors selling local produce. Great way to sample the local cheese and ham at better prices than the supermarkets.
