Entering to Archaeological Site
I was allowed to use the Via Mare entrance, by Piazza Porta Marina Inferiore, to redeem my online booking during my previous visits. For some unknown reasons, the skip-the-queue ticket must now be redeemed at the Via Villa dei Misteri entrance.
Opening Schedules: Between 1st November to 31st March, daily from 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs. From 1st April to 31st October, daily from 09:00hrs to 17:30hrs. Weekends opening from 08:30hrs onwards. Closing days – 1st January, 1st May and 25th December.
Suggestion: Purchase tickets online or Skip-the-Line tickets when visiting Pompeii during the peak months. Queues may be long and sometimes take up to 30-45mins to get your tickets. Tickets are issued in one queue and there will be a separate queue to get a copy of the Map/Guide. Best to be at the ticket booth within the first hour of opening. Lesser people to obstruct your photo and viewing.
