Pompeii Tips

TIPS & TRICKS
My Pompeii story

A reflection of this latest trip to Pompeii Archaeological site, minimum time spent would be half a day. This is a huge Archaeological site. Therefore, there will be a lot of walking.

I strongly suggest:

  • Good walking shoes and camera
  • Drinkable water
  • Energy bar, ‘easy-to-go’ food or some fruits
  • Hat and sunblock
Information and Timetables

Between 1st November to 31st March, daily from 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs. From 1st April to 31st October, daily from 09:00hrs to 17:30hrs. Weekends opening from 08:30hrs onwards. Closing days – 1st January, 1st May and 25th December.

Some readers may disagree on this. I would suggest purchasing tickets online or Skip-the-Line tickets when visiting Pompeii during the peak months. Queues may be long and sometimes take up to 30-45mins to get your tickets. Tickets are issued in one queue and there will be a separate queue to get a copy of the Map/Guide. Best to be at the ticket booth within the first hour of opening. Lesser people to obstruct your photo and viewing.
