Ephesus Archaeological Site
The ancient city Ephesus is listed as one of UNESCO World Heritage sites. This city was once the trade centre of the ancient world and a religious centre of early Christianity. Today, Ephesus is plays an important role in tourism both to the local and overseas market.

To think that I was sulking when we had to leave the thermal pools and Hierapolis behind for Ephesus, I came to realise that this Archaeological site is one of my ‘sacred haven’. Though weeds were surrounding some of the remains, the aligned columns and gates provide an idea seem very well preserved. One of the best I have seen in all my travels.

Tip: Bring along Camera, Sunglasses, Hat, Sunblock, Water and put on good and comfortable walking shoes for long walks. Requires at least a full day to cover most of the grounds.
