All forms of adventure is fun but when it becomes an overkill, all we need is a break.

First time to Bordeaux and definitely dying for restful nights and some relaxed traveling.

Bordeaux is a port city along the Garonne River in the southwestern France ~ Sixth-largest in France and inscribed as “an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble” on UNESCO World Heritage.

We stayed within the district of Gare St Jean, within walking distance to the Gare de Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station. Finally got to take our time to enjoy our trip.

Downtown Bordeaux

Place de la Bourse is a square in Bordeaux and one of the city’s most recognizable sights. During the day, Place de la Bourse seems like just a public square. At sunset, Place de la Bourse is a mirage of elegance and symmetry. Damn, if only we had more time and if only the turned on the mist as scheduled. Bordeaux Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-André de Bordeaux) is quite a masterpiece. Currently this iconic 11th-century Catholic cathedral is undergoing restoration.

Bordeaux Cathedral is situated right in front of Hôtel de Ville tram stop and beside Tour Pey Berland. Opening hours from Tuesday to Saturday at 10:00hrs to 13:00hrs and 15:00hrs to 19:30hrs, Sunday 09:30hrs to 13:00hrs and 15:00hrs to 19:30hrs and Monday at 15:00hrs to 19:30hrs. Attire respectfully. This is a place of worship and has poor lighting. A tip – Do not visit the Cathedral when it is 30mins to closing as they sometimes prepare to close earlier than as indicated.
