La Bastide Saint-Louise is built in the 13th century by Saint Louis. Compared to the famous citadel, La Bastide also offer many historic sights.
This neighbourhood town can be leisurely explored on foot within a day. Rue Georges Clemenceau is a footpath which stretches between Boulevard Omer Sarraut to Portail des Jacobins by Boulevard Barbès. There are shops and cafes on either side of the footpath.

Lots of amazing sights and this is why I would suggest good walking shoes, a camera and a daypack in case you need to buy anything. The Marché aux fleurs, légumes et fruits opens on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings in the Place Carnot, in the front of Carrefour City.
I enjoyed my stay brief stay in Carcassonne. The walk from La Bastide to Carcassonne Pont Vieux, a bridge over Aude to catch a beautiful glimpse of the citadel has been amazing.
