I was expecting the walls of Lucca to be as high as the Great Wall would be. Hopefully what lies beyond the walls would be of interest.
Getting into the Ancient and Medieval City from the Train Stazione
There are various ways to get into the City of Lucca – LAM buses or on foot or eco-friendly four-wheeled pedal cars.. Of course, some roads are still accessible to private cars and loading vehicles.
LAM Buses: Most of the pathways in the walls of Lucca are not accessible to traffic. The best way to move around within the walls is on foot. However, there are circuit buses such as LAM Blu, LAM Rossa and LAM Verde. Visit Lucca City Lines for the timetables and routes.
I found another nice eco-friendly way to explore this medieval City – by four-wheeled pedal cars. Four-wheeled pedal cars can be hired at the Tourist Center outside the Lucca Stazione.
