Camino – Lavacolla to Santiago de Compostela

Making our way into Santiago de Compostela felt like victory. We conquered exhaustion, odd weather and tough terrains.

Spainish pilgrim mass is at noon at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The Cathedral is situated within the Old City. It is advisable to arrive to the Cathedral earlier.

Note: To those mapping the location of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, please do not be misled. Entry to the Cathedral is free. However, there is a fee for entry to the Cathedral Museum. For updates, please download the Official site for the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Presentation of stamped credentials for certificate will be at Pilgrim’s Reception Office in Santiago de Compostela. The location of the Pilgrim’s Reception Office is not in the same building as the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. the Pilgrim’s Reception Office is situated along Rúa das Carretas, 33, northeast of the Cathedral.

Note: Exit the Cathedral to Praza do Obradoiro where the Cathedral is directly opposite Pazo de Raxoi (18th century French neoclassic palace). Walk down the flight of stairs and take an immediate right turn to Rúa das Carretas. The Pilgrim’s Reception Office is at the far end of this pedestrian pathway. Click for hours and updates on the Pilgrim’s Reception Office.
