Omicho market
Omicho market is one of the major highlight of Kanazawa and to Food Celebrants.
There are more than 100 stalls under one roof selling a variety of items from clothing and bags to raw and cooked food.
Oh yes, for someone like me who enjoys taking photos of just anything even food, I enjoyed myself very much at Omicho market. Not just the food but the locals. So far, I only noticed 2 stalls out of the entire market had the sign “No photography”. The rest of the locals are quite proud of you taking their photos to share and none even had any negative thoughts. Thumbs up to Omicho market!
Tip: Business Hours 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs (most stalls in general). Not all stalls will remain open until exactly 17:00hrs. Take at least half a day to explore this market. Cooked and raw food, vegetables and fruits, condiments, clothing, tea and snacks all under one roof – the market is sheltered. Not all stalls accept credit card.
