Carballal belongs to the parish of San Xulián do Camiño.

The path leading to Carballal from Highway N-547 is a painful uphill climb then runs somewhat parallel to N-547 inland away away from the Highway. This is a crazy walk off the Highway for a round of uphill then downhill then back to N-547 just to cross to the trek at opposite side to get to San Xulián do Camiño

San Xulián do Camiño is a small village dates back to Roman times and temples dedicated to San Julian or San Xiao, as it is said in Galician.

The view from the higher ground is awesome but the way of coming down is not worth the while! There was no clear path down to the trek below. Nature reclaimed a possible path and made it extremely slippery.

Do not rush! Do not bind the trekking sticks to your wrists! Get your footing and be ready to let go if the sticks are stuck to the roots. Fog causing morning dew all around so be ready to get a little muddy.
