Hotel Restaurante Carlos 96 is situated along N-547 at the entrance of Melide. As we entered by crossing the ancient Roman bridge (Ponte de San Xoán de Furelos), we had to cross through the Rúa Furelos and Rúa Circunvalación Campo Feira to get back onto N-547.
The triple room is so spacious that 3 luggage can be opened and spread out between the beds. Buffet breakfast comprises of a reasonable spread of sweet and savory breads, cheese and cured meat.
Note: Most hotels place a sign discouraging pilgrims from sneaking bread or fruit from the buffet table. Despite that effort, decided to turn a blind eye if any pilgrim still persisted. Hotel Restaurante Carlos 69 is not the type of establishment that would condone over that. A sign requesting payment of EUR10 for food sneaked out of the restaurante. In addition, the attendants are very attentive and nothing passes their eyes.
The distance to cover today is 14.1km with full uphills of 225m and downhills of 282m. From beginning of altitude 456m to downhills to 306m then back uphills. Despite a short 14.1km, the frequent steep uphills and downhills is a test of endurance and perseverance.

Melide, located in Galicia in northwestern Spain, is the only town where Camino Primitivo (Original Way) and Camino Frances (French Way) meets. Camino Primitivo will be from Lugo and Camino Frances from Sarria.
Before we could leave Melide, it started raining. Great, wet and slippery day ahead.
