Lake Akan is home of marimo, a form of rare species of algae which forms itself into beautiful green balls through the gentle rolling of waves in the lake.

Lake Akan Tsuruga Wing belongs in the Tsuruga Group Hotels and one of the most prestigious hotel in the Resort town.

During our stay, the Resort hotel has quite an influx of guests from both private bookings and transiting tours. The Resort hotel is known for their large spread of Japanese and Western cuisine for breakfasts and dinners.  

I doubt seeing any swimming pools in the hotel but new adjustments were made for Onsen. There is a premium paid section and another section for general hotel guests. It was a pity that the outdoor onsen is no longer available. However, within the onsen room, there is a pool of water with temperature of 18 degrees Celsius 🥶
